Keyboard Class Curriculum

  • Teaching instrument: Keyboard (Western style)
  • 1 class per week and 30 min/45 min classes according to kid’s level
  • Keyboard classes are conducted form age 5 above kids as well as Adults
  • The keyboard classes will provide students with knowledge of western scales, beats, and music theory
  • Students will also learn note reading and playing technique
  • The keyboard classes will use the Alfred’s Basic Piano Library lesson books. Along with western classical music,interested students will also learn the scales and beats of Indian music and also how to play shlokas. carnatic classical and other Indian light music songs on the keyboard
  • Materials for western classical music can be found at local sheet music stores (PM Music Center, etc.) and the level will be assigned by the instructor. Idiain music notes materials will be provided if needed
  • Required materials: homework notebook, pencil, and music books
  • Optional: metronome. Students will need a keyboard for practice at home. Keyboards/Pianos can be found at Guitar Center, Naperville Music, PM Music Center, and Cordogan’s Piano Land
